Firewise Wood Chipper in May

In May, the Department of Natural Resources Firewise  division has granted Sudden Valley the use of a wood chipper and personnel.

Under the renewed Firewise certification yearly requirements Sudden Valley must hold a community wide event to promote fire safety. In the past, the Area Z burn qualified as our yearly event.

This year, from May 24th through May 28, there will be a chipper available for yard debris.    See ACC forms below to request tree trimming and removal.

Marina Security Plan

Purpose – Provide an overview of the security plan for the Marina and a process for ensuring it most advantageous use without sacrificing use by Association members.

Strategies - The following strategies will be employed under this new security plan.

Notice and Warning Signs – Signs providing notice of Marina rules and required conduct, and warnings of “Trespass” and “Authorized Use Only” will be posted at the Marina entrance, in the launch ramp area and at other appropriate locations. (more…)

2010 Capital Budget – GM, accounting staff, Finance Committee and Long Range Planning Committee reviewed the Administration’s 2010 Capital Budget. After thorough review and discussion the respective committees advised they would recommend Board approval of the budget at the upcoming BOD meeting. (more…)

GM and BOD Support Community Garden

comm-garden1The GM made the decision to allow the Maintenance Shop’s water line to be tapped for use at the Community Garden, as it is the most cost effective solution. SVCA staff will work with volunteer plumbers to install a water line and a meter. The GM and staff will  work with Community Garden Volunteers to develop an acceptable method for covering the cost of the water used.

Cluster Box MOU Signed

postmaster-mou-sizedOn Tuesday February 2, 2010, Sudden Valley received a signed Memorandum of Understanding from the US Postal Service for the installation of cluster boxes throughout the community. The SVCA can now move forward in partnership with the Post Office. This is the first step toward completion of this project that began approximately five years ago. A full update will appear in the March Views and on the Sudden Valley web site.

2010 Fee Schedule

cashJanuary 25th, at the regularly scheduled board meeting, the Sudden Valley Board of Directors approved the new recreation fee schedule.

These fees are approved annually by the board of directors to offset the expense of providing these amenities to the members and non-members.

The Marina fees for the non-members are being discussed at the February work session (see the website calendar for dates, times and location of these meetings).

The fees are listed by department if you have any questions concerning these fees please contact the General Manager, Dave Wareing at 360-734-6430.
