Petition – Pools

The Board has recently received a petition signed by a large number of SVCA members; expressing a strong desire to get the pools opened and ensure that they are open in future years.  Perhaps more importantly, the Board has also heard the message and understands the strong desire behind the petition.  (more…)

Heimlich / CPR Class Rescheduled

To accommodate those who are interested in taking this class  there are two dates available in September the first is Wednesday the 15th and the second is Saturday the 18th both dates will start at 9 am. Please  indicate the preferred date on the sign-up form, below.

The Emergency Preparedness Committee, in association with the Dave Ralston and the Fire Department, has scheduled an instructional class for Heimlich/CPR.

Cost is $10.00 per attendee, payable on SVCA.   Classes are typically 4 hours.   Instructor Dave Forbes can accommodate 15 participants, so sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Click more to complete a sign up form. (more…)

Lost and Found

If you have lost a pet or perhaps a set of keys please check the new web page called” Lost and Found” , located on the right handside of the websites front page under Other sites. This site  features reported items such as found pets, purses and various previously owned items.

Weekly Highlights July 26

A quick overview of the significant issues that were addressed by the Administration during the past week.

Members Only Access – With the community’s pools being closed this summer, the Administration has posted signs at the Marina and the AM-PM Beaches that warn that those facilities are for members and residents only. All others will be asked to leave by Security, which has been tasked with checking identification and enforcing the restrictions for these areas. (more…)

Town Hall – Participate in the 2011 Budget

The Sudden Valley membership is invited to spend some time with the board and staff discussing the 2011 Budget. Curt Casey will be chairing the meeting on Sunday,  August 22. Located at the Dance Barn from 2 to 4 pm.

There are two other Town Halls scheduled for Sunday,  September 26th from 2 to 4  at the Dance Barn. The agenda is not available at this time.  The third Town Hall is scheduled for October the 10th, which is also a Sunday from 2 to 4 pm also located at the Dance Barn. No agenda is available at this time.

Please put all three Town Halls on your calendar each meeting will  be different subjects relating to Sudden Valley issues.

Closure of Disc Golf Course

The Mossy Rock Disc Golf course, located along Lake Louise Road in the old Sudden Valley Campground, was shut down for a number of reasons including liability issues arising from a dangerous interface between the parking lot and Lake Louise Road, a lack of proper sanitary facilities, negative interactions with Association residents in the Campground, zoning requirements, very low percentage participation of Association members and an increasing demand on Association resources without a significant return to the Association or its members.

Cluster Mailbox Installation

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

A Scimitar Construction crew works to pour concrete into forms for mounting bases for the new cluster mailboxes. The cluster box units (CBUs) will be installed later this summer.  The Spring Street concrete work was the first concrete to be poured in the Mailbox Installation Project that will result in over 200 cluster box and package box units. Crews will be pouring concrete at the Rotunda parking lot on Wednesday and other locations the rest of the week.

“One Way Down the Amazon” Children’s 5-day Club

1.  Will there be an over-sized box at each cluster-box location in Gates 3, 9, 13 (and Gate 1)?
- Yes, there will be several regular size package boxes and at least 3 over-sized package boxes at every site in Gates 1, 3, 9, and 13. (more…)
