When will the pools open in 2018?
The pools opened on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The pool schedule can be found here.
How can I access the pools and gym?
For Sudden Valley Members, you will need to obtain an Access Card and sign a Liability Waiver. An Access Card is an RIFD card with a magnetic strip, which will let you into the Adult Pool, Family Pool and Gym. The card features your name and picture. To obtain your card please visit Administration at 4 Clubhouse Circle.
What is the definition of a “Member”?
For the purposes of issuing passes, a Member is a property owner and the occupants of that home.
What is an Access Card?
A magnetic strip card that is issued by Administration, featuring your name and picture. This card grants the access to the gym and pool areas.
Who needs an Access Card?
All Members 14 years of age or older needs their own Access Card. Members between 14 and 17 can use the gym and Family Pool independently. Members 18 years and above have access to both pools and gym. Children 13 and below cannot use the facilities independently, therefore they do not need a card.
How do I get my Access Card?
Go the Administration Office at 4 Clubhouse Circle Monday through Friday between 8:00 and 4:30 and request an Access Card. They will take your picture, confirm your membership and standing, then process the Card. Each person receiving a card must sign a Liability Waiver. They may ask you to come back and pick the card up later.
How much does an Access Card cost?
Each household receives 1 free card. After that, there is a onetime fee of $8.00 for each additional card. This is to cover the cost of production for the card. Each card takes about 10 minutes to process.
How many Access Cards does a household receive?
Each family in good standing will be issued 1 free card. Additional cards are $8 each. Each card will have the card holder’s picture and be assigned to a person.
Who must sign a Waiver?
Everyone that accesses the gym or pools must have a signed Waiver of Liability. Children under the age of consent (18) must have their parent’s sign for them. We require signed Waivers to gain access into the gym and pools; parents are required to sign a Waiver of Liability for each of their children if they will use the pool or gym.
Do children require their own Access Card?
Children 14 years of age or older can use the gym and pool independently; with parent or guardian permission. Therefore, children 14 and above must receive their own card. Children below the age of 14 are not required to have an access card; they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When is an Access Card not required?
Children under the age of 14 do not have to have their own access card.
Can a Renter in the Valley obtain Member amenity privileges?
Yes, an owner can assign their privileges to the renter. The Association requires a copy of the lease and an email delegating this privilege to the renter. The email must come from the owner’s email on file. Since there is only one amenity privilege per owned property, the owner then gives this right up. For more information contact member services at email@example.com.
My babysitter/nanny is not a Sudden Valley Member. Can they take my children to the pool?
Yes. To better accommodate those members who have nannies or babysitters who take their children to the pool, we have created a Parent Authorization Form for Use of Pool. The form allows for the nanny or babysitter “designee”, to accompany the member’s children to the pool at no charge. The Parent Authorization Form needs to be filled out by the member and designee and brought to the Community Center. As usual, all children need a Liability Waiver on file signed by the parent.
Can a Member bring a Guest to the pools or gym?
Yes! Members can bring guests to the pool and gym. There is a fee for each guest and the guest must fill out a liability waiver at the Recreation Department, located at Barn 8 in the Community Center. There is a day pass, monthly pass, and seasonal pass available for the pool and gym. The Recreation Department is set up to take card payments only.
Can I purchase Guest Passes?
For members who have friends and family that want to use a pool, a “Member Guest” pass can be purchased from the Recreation Department. Member Guest passes are offered for daily use, as well as a monthly and seasonal pass. Member Guests must be accompanied by the SVCA Member to use their pass.
How can I pay for Guests?
The recreation Center will take credit or debit cards; they will not be set up to accept cash this season. Members may also purchase pre-paid punch cards at the Administration Office. These cards will be available in mid-July.
Can children use the pool or gym by themselves?
Children 14 and older who have a Waiver of Liability signed by themselves and their parent or guardian can use the pool and gym independently. This does not exempt children from a swim test or gym orientation with Recreation staff. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult to use the pool or gym.
How many children can I bring to the pool?
To promote the safety of our pools, you can bring up to six children per responsible adult. Children 14 years and above can use the pool by themselves. Therefore, only children 13 and below will count towards this ratio, unless the child 14 years and above is a non-swimmer.
Am I allowed to take my children’s friends to the pool?
Yes, but all children need a Liability Waiver signed by their parents. We cannot allow children into the pool who does not have a liability waiver signed by their parent. If the child lives within Sudden Valley, there is no charge. If the child is from outside Sudden Valley there is a fee. However, children five and under are free.
