Anticipated SVCA Road Conditions

Tomorrow (Monday January 13th) It is anticipated that Sudden Valley road conditions will be extremely icy due to the impending cold temperatures and the amount of moisture that is currently falling as rain snow mix and possibly snow later tonight.

Due to these anticipated conditions, Sudden Valley maintenance crews will be deployed at 4:00 a.m. to start addressing the Sudden Valley’s primary roads and pushing out into other areas of the community during this operational period.

Sudden Valley intends to communicate out the conditions through social media and web site. SVCA will also request that the 1610 AM Traffic Advisory System (SVARC) systems be activated and start broadcasting a message as soon as is practical.

Bellingham School District Transportations will be notified by 3:30 a.m. or possibly earlier of current road conditions and will evaluate transportation and busing into Sudden Valley and will determine the course of action based on conditions.

There will be an operational SITREP to be sent tomorrow by 7:30 a.m. as response efforts have had a chance to work.
