Inclement Weather Response Update

a. Washington State of Emergency has been declared by the Governor and by Whatcom County Executive

b. Sudden Valley roads conditions have improved, major roads are passable with caution. SV maintenance is continuing plowing main roads and connector roads for the remainder of the operational period. It is still strongly advised to only travel if necessary, chains and winter rated tires are highly advised. Updates on SV roads will be posted as the next forecasted snow storm moves into the area, updates to be posted available either on 1610 BECoN emergency information system or contact Sudden Valley Security.

c. Security patrol has resumed normal operations

d. Current weather conditions: overcast sky, winds are calm, temperature 28 degrees. Next round of snow forecasted to start at 4 PM on 02/11/19  forecasted to continue to 02/13/19 till 1 AM. Winter Storm Warning now in place for Whatcom County from 4 PM today till Tuesday at 6 PM

Response – Current Operational Period

a. Response efforts to continue 02/11/19, evaluation to be made by 3 PM to determine when operations will cease

b. Response assets to deploy as per SVCA snow plan, main roads to be addressed to allow for emergency vehicle access, connector roads.

c. Response efforts will consist of plowing an limited use of sand to conserve on hand supplies as much as possible for next forecasted snow storm
d. Response efforts to continue till 3:30 PM 02/11/19

a. Fuel status to be updated at 4 PM report

b. Resupply of sand; 140 tons at be delivered by 1330 PM.

c. Security patrol resumed normal operations

d. SVCA facilities (Rec Center/Gym) will remain closed today. Administrative Offices partially open with limited staffing

a. All Whatcom CERTs have been placed on alert due to state of emergency in Whatcom County

b. Forecast indicates next snow fall to occur at 4 PM today and continue to 02/13/19 at 1 AM
