Proposed Community Center Update

During a recent discussion on the topic of building a new Community Center, I stated that the most economical option for building a new Community Center would be to demolish Barn 8, and then build a new facility in its place.  While this may be the least costly option, it is not the best or preferred option.  The plan presented at the last Town Hall remains the viable plan going into the Election, with the difference being building a smaller version of the same concept.  The last version was 26,000 square feet, the option now presented to the membership is 18,000 to 20,000 square feet using the same design plan.

Building a new Community Center on the footprint of Barn 7 and the Barn 8 mid-barn allows our tenants to remain in operation until the new building construction is complete. They will then move into their new quarters, and the portions of Barn 8 that are no longer required will be demolished at that time.  This option provides the Community with the least disruption and best value.

I hope this alleviates any confusion, and that you will support this exciting Revitalization Project.
