SVCA has installed a solar parking lot light at the Rotunda mailbox site to evaluate the feasibility of using this type of lighting at other locations. The light is designed to be used in the norther tier areas of the US. It is programed to automatically come on during low light evenings and remain on for six hours. In the case of the Rotunda solar light, the evening “on” setting is 5:00 PM and then turns off 11:00 PM to conserve the batteries. An addional feature includes a motion sensor that will turn the light on for a brief time after the six hours “on” cycle.
Residents are encouraged to stop by and view the solar light in operation and then let us know what your thoughts are for using these in other locations. Comments can be e-mailed to maintmgr@suddenvalley.com.
