Sudden Valley Jazz Concert Sat. Apr. 22 at the Dance Barn features Greta Matassa and Clipper Anderson

HE SAID, SHE SAID. HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM SHARE THE STAGE AT SUDDEN VALLEY
Vocalist, Greta Matassa, has been a long-time favorite at Sudden Valley. Whether scatting with tap-dancer Jovon Miller, singing with the Basie/Ellington tribute band or doing her own favorites backed by great Seattle musicians like Darren Clendenon and Susan Pascal, Greta has always had sold-out shows followed by universally contented listeners.
When he is available, Greta is strongly backed by her husband, bassist Clipper Anderson. A lot of people don’t realize what a great singer Clipper is. This concert will be highlighting not only Greta’s singing, but Clipper’s also. The first half will be Greta singing with a group including vibraphonist, Susan Pascal. The second half will be devoted to Clipper singing with a trio. With any luck, they’ll pair up for a few songs at the end.
Concert takes place at the Dance Barn, Gate 2, Sudden Valley on Saturday, April 22nd from 3-5 pm. Tickets cost $20 and all proceeds go to the South Whatcom Library. Tickets are available at Village Books, the community center (YMCA) at Sudden Valley, on-line at
www.fswl.org or by calling K.C. Sulkin at 360-671-1709.
