SVCA Operational Status Next 24 Hours (02/28/19)

Description

a. National Weather Service current forecast for the next 24 hours indicates chance of precipitation at 80% with possible snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, continuing into Thursday morning. Current weather is overcast 39 degrees, winds calm. Lows tonight forecasted  below freezing, with a wind chill in the mid-twenties.

Current Status

a. Responses assets (plows and sanders) available at staging areas.

b. SVCA Maintenance crews already notified of potential of an early start depending on road report at 3:30 a.m. on 02/28/19

Logistics

a. Fuel 95 %

b. Sand and granular deicer: at inventory limits

c. Liquid deicer: at inventory limits

Amplifying Information

a. Road report will be obtained by 3:30 a.m. 2/28 and communicated to Sudden Valley response managers and externally.

b. Bellingham School District transportation will be notified of the road conditions at 3:30 A.M. on 02/28/19

c. SCVA offices and recreation center operations for 02/28 to be determined by SVCA GM prior to 6 A.M.

d. Updated road report will be posted on the Sudden Valley website, 161O AM (BECON Information System), cascaded to Social Media and to Pacific Security Dispatch at 360-319-8200, at 6 AM
