SVCA Operational Status Next 24 Hours (2/23)


a. National Weather Service forecasts state to expect snow/rain mix continuing till 10 PM Friday night. Saturday snow/rain mix likely before 4 PM. Forecast states little to no snow accumulation expected. Below freezing temperatures are expected for Saturday evening (02/23/18)

b. SVCA response assets will be in a stand by ready status and will deployed tomorrow (2/23) depending on assessment of road conditions at 7 a.m.

Current Status

a. SVCA Maintenance has continued to address areas where slush, ice and compacted snow had accumulated

b. Response assets at the end of today’s operational period will stand down and return to their designated staging areas

c. Response assets available for deployment depending on road and weather report tomorrow.

d. SVCA Maintenance crews have already been alerted to the potential deployment at 07:00 AM (02/23) based on road report.

a. Road report will be obtained by 7:00 a.m. 2/23 and communicated to Sudden Valley response managers and externally.

b. Bellingham School District transportation has been notified of the road conditions on 02/22/18 via phone call.

c. Updated road report will be posted on the Sudden Valley website, 161O AM (BECON Information System), cascaded to Social Media and to Pacific Security Dispatch at  360.319.8200, at 7 AM

d. Status of Sudden Valley administrative offices and Recreation Center/Gym, on regular weekend schedule
