On Monday, May 11th, Maintenance started the capital-funded 2020 Vegetation Control project. This year, they started at the intersection of Sudden Valley Drive and Berry Wood Court and will work towards the intersection of Sudden Valley Drive and Honeycomb Lane. This section of road is a heavy canopy of tree limbs overhanging the storm water ditches and road surface, so they expect to have a lot of wood chips once the limbs have been cleaned up. These limbs will be run through the large mobile woodchipper and the chips blown into a special dump truck on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The Maintenance team is offering to deliver a free truck load of wood chips to residents who want to register for them. As the truck is filled with wood chips, deliveries will be made in the sequence that the requests are received. The offer is limited to a full truckload of chips, about 4-5 cubic yards. Partial loads of chips are not feasible for delivery. There is the option of neighbors getting together and sharing a single truck load of chips from a central location.
To register, send an e-mail to chips@suddenvalley.com with the following information:
- Address where the chips are to be delivered.
- Name of the person making the request.
- A contact phone number.
- A contact e-mail address.
- A description of a specific, well-marked spot, where the wood chips can be dropped off. Please note that the delivery truck is large and cannot drive over lawns or dump the chips on the road or in a ditch.
A hard copy of your e-mail will be given to the Team’s Lead so that they have the specific information to make your delivery.
Unfortunately, during the COVID-19 Stay-at-Home period, we will not be able to take phone requests because of limited staffing for phone support.
The Maintenance team will call one or two days ahead of the delivery to let residents know that they are close to having the wood chips delivered.
