The person arrested for car prowling in Gate 3 today was charged with Vehicle Prowling in the 2nd Degree which can be a gross misdemeanor or a felony, depending on prior history. This person was armed, had drugs in possession, and was well equipped to search, break in, and do harm. It is important to reinforce to our members, this is a matter best left to the Sheriff’s Department and to our Security. The Association asks all of our members, please, if you see anyone engaged in suspicious activity, immediately report it to the authorities and do not approach the individual. Safety first.
Early this morning a Gate 3 resident contacted the Whatcom Sherriff’s Department reporting suspicious activity outside their home involving their car. The Sherriff’s Dispatcher contacted Sudden Valley Security notifying them of the situation, tasking them to cordon the area, monitor and report. Sherriff’s Deputies arrived at 4:15 am, circled the area, stopped an individual and then shortly took that person into custody departing the valley at 5:00 a.m. this morning. We thank the membership for being aware, reporting, and enabling the process to work to a successful end today.
A water line has broken in Gate 3.
Lake Whatcom Water District is on scene trying to repair the leak. The leak is significant and giving them a challenge.
Members may experience short-term loss of pressure or water outage during this period of time.
The Association will post when this issue is resolved.
PSE just notified Sudden Valley of a repair action occurring tomorrow Friday, March 2nd, 2018 that will effect Gate 3 Residents.
An underground electrical vault was damaged by a vehicle on Sudden Valley Drive within the last 30 days and requires immediate repair.
Beginning tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM, PSE will assemble in the vicinity of the Gate 3 entrance. at 9:00 AM Flaggers will close one lane of traffic to allow repair crews to enter and repair the below grade electrical vault. PSE estimates some 70 customers will lose electrical power during this work.
PSE Flaggers will route traffic, signs will be posted, and work will continue during the day until repairs are complete; no estimate of duration has been provided at this time.
