The Recreation Department is excited to announce the re-opening of Gate 5 Park as of today! Our parks crew has been working hard over the past several weeks to upgrade the safety of the park, and add additional play and parking area. The crew:
Excavated out old non-compliant woodchips; about 60 yards.
Removed tree stumps and seeded dirt areas creating larger play area.
Installed landscaping fabric to prevent vegetation growth in play area.
Installed playground borders.
Installed compliant fall surface; washed pea gravel.
Inspected and cleaned play equipment.
We will be starting renovation of the Community Center playground area shortly and will keep you updated! For more information, you can contact Recreation Manager Maddie Ottley at email@example.com. Thank you.
The Parks crew is hard at work improving the Gate 5 Park! They are currently removing old degraded wood chips, and will install landscape fabric and playground borders next. After that, they will install code-compliant fall surface; washed pea gravel. As part of this project, they are also removing old stumps to create a larger play area, and expanding the parking area. We anticipate the project to be completed at the end of September. Thank you!
Over the course of September, Recreation Department staff will be improving and repairing the Gate 5 Park. Staff will be removing old fall surface and installing new material as well as playground borders and landscaping fabric.
The Park will be closed starting September 4th. We anticipate re-opening the park on October 1st. During this time, the park is not available for use. Thank you for your patience.
The 2018 Culvert Repair project will be starting construction next week. Iverson Construction has given us notice that they will be closing one lane of Polo Park Drive near Glacier Ridge Drive on July 31st. Iverson will post a “pre-notice for construction” this Saturday to inform residents. Gate 5 work on Culvert 225 on Lake Louise Road will not involve closing the road, though they will be closing the shoulder off of Louise View Drive the following week.
