This effort was started by a group of community members and after much thought, development, and consideration, they launched a petition to the Board of Directors as follows:
This Special Assessment will be used for the sole purposes of funding the maintenance, operations and Member enjoyment of the Community Center, main pool, adult pool, and gym as well as parks and trails*. If approved, all Members in Good Standing would have access to the main pool, adult pool and gym at no additional cost. Membership cards will be required and used to verify eligibility. One access card per property shall be included at no charge; additional and replacement cards will require a nominal fee as established by the Board.
The Special Assessment would commence not later than the first day of the month after member approval and expire on the 60th month thereafter. The Special Assessment would be imposed on each lot or consolidated lot in the same manner as for regular assessments. The amount of the Special Assessment shall not exceed $11.00/month for developed lots and $8.00/month for undeveloped lots in the first year and shall escalate by no more than 3% annually.
*Funds collected will be placed into its own department in the operations fund and tracked separately. Funding allocation for items covered by this assessment will be prioritized by the Board with input from committees.
The petition was delivered at the February 22nd Board meeting and the Special General Meeting (SGM) has been set for April 21. Ballots are expected to be mailed around March 22nd and is your chance to have a say in reclaiming these central community assets.
