Over the course of September, Recreation Department staff will be improving and repairing the Gate 5 Park. Staff will be removing old fall surface and installing new material as well as playground borders and landscaping fabric.
The Park will be closed starting September 4th. We anticipate re-opening the park on October 1st. During this time, the park is not available for use. Thank you for your patience.
The Grand Re-Opening of Huckleberry Park will be on Saturday, July 7th.
This is the first park refurbishment with more planned starting in 2019.
There will be free Ice Cream for children from 10:00am – noon!

The gravel installation at Huckleberry Park is 50% done. Next Monday staff will continue gravel work, then install the remaining boarder section and complete tie in work from the grass to the boarder edge. The gravel area was expanded to meet safety requirements, deepened to allow softer landings, and a fabric mat installed to prevent grasses from coming up through the gravel. Staff have also decided to expand the walk path up to the park for ease of strollers
Ready for mom’s and tykes next week.
Huckleyberry Park in Gate 9 will be closed from Wednesday June 13th-Friday June 22nd. The playground will be under construction as the old play surface is removed and replaced. Trucks and equipment will be using the grass area adjacent to the playground for staging. During this entire time the playground will be off limits and will be fenced when work is not actively happening. Thanks for you patience as we renovate this park.
The gym and Community Center are open. The water has been restored to the building.
