  Pavement striping operations are scheduled Wednesday, August 5, on Lake Whatcom Boulevard and Lake Louise Road. Lake Whatcom Boulevard work will begin at 9am and Lake Louise Road work will start at approximately 11am.    Only local residents will be allowed through during project work. Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies will be on site to assist with traffic control.    • Lake Whatcom Blvd from Cable St to Lake Louise Rd beginning at 9am • Lake Louise Rd from Austin St to Lake Whatcom Blvd beginning at approximately 11am   Please use alternate routes when possible and expect long delays on affected roadways.    This work is weather dependent and is subject to change.     Please contact the Maintenance and Operations Division at 360-778-6400 for any questions or concerns regarding this work.

PSE Planned Asphalt Repair

POTELCO, Inc. is still on schedule to make final repairs to the asphalt road and parking surfaces that were disturbed during the 2019 PSE project in Gate 2. Work will be done by AA Asphalt on Marigold Drive, Ridgefield Condos, Ranch House Condos, Center Condos, and Orchid Court will start on November 4th, 2019 and continue that week until all of the locations are completed.

Road Repairs Update – 7/1/19

Within the hour, work crews will have completed all pothole patching and repair in Gate 2. 2/3 of the paving has been completed in Gate 2 so far, and should be completed by the end of today.

Shortly, flagging and other equipment will move to Gate 1. Crews will be working from Lake Whatcom Blvd to the end of Windward Drive. There will be 2-way traffic at the entrance of Gate 1.

Windward Drive will have a trench cut into it across 3/4 of the road and may be somewhat problematic. Flaggers will be posted, and the work should be completed by the end of today.

Road Repairs Update – 6/28/19

Due to insufficient asphalt, the patch at the exit of Gate 1 will not be completed today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Paving, grinding, and pothole repairs will be fully completed in Gates 3, 9, and 13 within the hour.

The patch at the Gate 1 exit, and the patch at the Gate 2 exit, will be completed by end of day.

Remaining repairs in Gate 1 and Gate will be completed on Monday, July 1st. Please note that once crews begin work on Sunflower Circle and Grandview, vehicles will not be able to get around crew vehicles and staging, but flaggers and signage will be posted on each end.

Again, we thank the community for your understanding and patience as we continue to address these necessary repairs to our roads.

Road Repairs Update – 6/27/19

Due to the weather, paving and digging will not continue today. Any holes dug yesterday will still be there today and overnight.

Some work crews may be out cutting pavement or doing miscellaneous repairs, but nothing will be removed today.

Crews are scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, June 28th and recommence paving, projected to be completed by midday. Then crews will go from pothole to pothole continuing those repairs.

Road Repairs Update – 6/26/19

WRS crews will not do any more paving today, but they will do more grinding. Coming into Gate 9 there will be a couple of bumps which are not severe. There are cones and warning signs identifying the locations of the bumps.

The crews will also do grinding work at the exit of Gate 2, and intend to finish the paving tomorrow morning.

There are a couple other small spots with bumps but appropriate signage will be posted. Besides the grind-outs, crews will start using a pavement saw to start cutting boxes in the pavement for repairs, but they will stay in place. They will not be digging.

There is a small bump in Gate 1 and crews will try to grind it down a bit more.

Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these necessary repairs to our roads.

Road Repairs Update – Sudden Valley Drive

There will be “Bump” signs posted on Sudden Valley Drive this evening. The Road Repairs project will recommence tomorrow morning and all of Sudden Valley Drive will be completed by tomorrow, June 25th.

Wednesday morning, 6/26/19 the project will continue with work being performed in Gates 2, 5, 9, and 13.
