Kanu Sharma and Sandi Mitchell will fill the two open board of directors positions.

On Tuesday, January 25th, Polo Park Drive will have a full road closure for repairs at the Beaver Creek culvert. This is the section of roadway just north of Sunnyside. The closure is expected to last from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
Whatcom County Public Works w/Sudden Valley Community Association will have a contractor (Bayside Services) dispatched to perform utility potholing in the shoulder and traveled way of Marigold Drive in Sudden Valley on January 24th, 2022 beginning at 8:00 AM. This work is anticipated to be completed in one working day, but it is possible it could continue into Tuesday the 25th.
Traffic control flagging will be provided for all work and at least a single lane of the Marigold Drive roadway will be opened at all times.

Next week and the following week, there will be repeated, temporary road closures at 17 Cascade Lane. The following days and times will see the road fully closed:

We’ve had a very eventful couple of weeks to start the new year. Giving attention to some critical issues has short-changing my ability to provide the robust “Ask the GM” that I’m committed to providing, and which SV residents deserve. To better provide the Q&A you want, I’m delaying the initial “Ask the GM” until the one already scheduled for February 2nd at 7-8PM. I’m also adding a follow-up on February 10th from 3-4PM to accommodate those unable to participate on February 2nd.

The Board vacancy application deadline for the two open SVCA Board of Directors seats has been extended for two weeks due to the Clubhouse offices being closed. The application period now ends Tuesday January 25, 2022 at 2:00 pm .
The two open director positions will be filled by appointment. Candidate interviews and appointments will be held at a future Board meeting. The positions are for one year terms ending immediately following the 2022 Annual General Meeting.
Members interested in serving should complete a Candidate Application and Disclosure Jan 2022 BOD Vacancy form. The form is available for download linked here. Paper application forms can be found in the pamphlet file at the Administration Office when it opens. The download link and the paper copies are to original application forms listing the original January 11 deadline that is now the January 25 deadline. Other than the application deadline, the candidate interview date and the candidate appointment date, the information and instructions on the forms remain unchanged.

Due to the record-breaking number of parcels being held, the USPS has arranged to have a pop-up package distribution event on Wednesday, January 12th and Thursday, January 13th.
The location for this is the Ice Barn. This is the structure next to the Community Center (Dance Barn) in Gate 2 at 8 Barnview Drive.
The plan is to break this into groups by street name.
Anyone who lives on a street that starts with the letter A thru M will be able to pickup mail and packages Wednesday, January 12th from 10am to 8pm.
Anyone who lives on a street that starts with the letter N thru W will be able to pickup mail and packages Thursday, January 13th from 10am to 8pm.
Please bring your parcel notification slip or a picture ID to retrieve your packages.
