Swimming Lessons Are Here!

*Swimming Lessons Signup Form – We have partnered with the Whatcom County YMCA to provide swim lessons. You can register on their website by following the link. YMCA Swim Lessons, call the Rec Center front desk for more details.

Main Pool Closed 6/1

The Main Pool at the Community Center will be closed for maintenance on Wednesday and Thursday (June 1st and 2nd). The Quiet Pool at the Adult Center (Library) will remain open with regular hours.

The Quiet Pool will be open at Noon on 6/1 closed on 6/1, but open regular hours 6/2.

Pool Party Reservations

Now that Washington State has opened back up, Sudden Valley will begin allowing pool party reservations for both the Main Pool & the Quiet Pool. During these reservation times, the pool will be used exclusively and will not be available for the public or members to use. We apologize for the delay in providing this service and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. We hope that people will be able to reserve the pool for parties such as birthdays, baby showers, and any other kinds of celebrations!

2021 Sudden Valley Flea Market

In the event of rain, the Flea Market will be held in the Dance Barn at 8 Barn View Ct.

The 2021 Sudden Valley Flea Market will be held on Saturday, September 18th on the tennis courts at the Marina. The registration fee is $15 per event and tables are available for rent for $10 (limit 1 table per vendor). Payment must be made prior to or at the time of submission. Tai Chi

Starting in September, Tai Chi will start back up and be held in the Dance Barn every Thursday from 10 am – noon. Tai Chi is a free class and all who participate need to be vaccinated and preferably wear a mask. This class will continue until December 9th and there will be no class on Thanksgiving (11/25). Gym Q&A

Today we sent out a Gym Q&A Edition of the eBlast containing helpful information about scheduling appointments for the Fitness Center.

If you aren’t signed up for the eBlast, don’t worry! The Q&A is also on the Recreation Page, which you can view by clicking here. Scheduling will open up on Wednesday, March 10th and the Rec Center will open on Thursday, March 11th, so be sure to take a look before then!

AM/PM Park Temporarily Closed for Maintenance

When: 10/27 and 10/28 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
(Previously scheduled for 10/22 & 10/23, rescheduled due to weather)
Where: AM/PM Beach (Park)

What: Sudden Valley will be replacing curbside barriers (boulders), this activity will involve heavy equipment and other support vehicles along with large boulders. Pedestrians are asked to stay out of the park for their safety, the park should re-open October 24th
