Phase I Burn Ban Still in Effect

Please be aware that a Phase I Burn Ban is still in effect for Whatcom County. This stage of burn ban prohibits all open burning of residential yard debris and land-clearing materials. All issued, active burn permits are suspended under this ban.

Recreational fires will still be allowed but must meet specific criteria. You can read more about the required precautions and the standard rules for outdoor fires at the following links:

PARTIAL ROAD CLOSURE

There will be a partial road closure on Monday, September 12, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at 28 Honeycomb Lane. Traffic will be reduced down to a one lane passage during that time with flaggers present. Please allow extra time in your commute that day to accommodate this disruption. Thanks for your patience in the meantime while we get through this together.

Announcement Regarding Applicants for the November AGM

The Nominations and Elections Committee would like to announce that Gail Chiarello’s application was inadvertently overlooked in today’s count of candidates. The application was received in advance of the deadline and was stored in a safe location separate from the other applications that were received. Because of this, it was not processed during the regular meeting. Ms. Chiarello will appear on the ballot as the only candidate for the Nominations and Elections Committee.

ADMIN OFFICE CLOSURE

The Admin Office will be closed on Monday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day. We will resume our normal business hours on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

The Rec Center & the Pools will remain open all weekend.

2022 Annual General Meeting

Candidate applications are due September 6

Candidate applications to run for the  many open positions on the Board and Standing Committees are due Tuesday September 6 at 4:30 pm.

Sudden Valley will hold its 2022 Annual General Meeting(AGM) on Saturday, November 5 at 1:00PM.

ROAD CLOSURE-12 GREEN HILL ROAD

There will be a road closure at 12 Green Hill Road on Thursday, September 1, from approximately 9:00 am and is expected to conclude by 2:00 pm. There will be crews conducting a concrete pour during that time. Please allow extra time in your commute that day to detour around this area if possible.
