Phase I Burn Ban Still in Effect
Please be aware that a Phase I Burn Ban is still in effect for Whatcom County. This stage of burn ban prohibits all open burning of residential yard debris and land-clearing materials. All issued, active burn permits are suspended under this ban.
Recreational fires will still be allowed but must meet specific criteria. You can read more about the required precautions and the standard rules for outdoor fires at the following links:

Announcement Regarding Applicants for the November AGM
The Nominations and Elections Committee would like to announce that Gail Chiarello’s application was inadvertently overlooked in today’s count of candidates. The application was received in advance of the deadline and was stored in a safe location separate from the other applications that were received. Because of this, it was not processed during the regular meeting. Ms. Chiarello will appear on the ballot as the only candidate for the Nominations and Elections Committee.
2022 Special General Meeting Results (Uncertified)
On August 13th, a Special General Meeting was held to vote on measures to recall two members of the Sudden Valley Board of Directors. The final tally will go through a certification process that should take place Monday, August 22nd at the next meeting of the Nominations and Elections Committee. The uncertified results are as follows:

Board of Directors Meeting Cancelled
This Thursday’s board meeting is canceled due to staff preparation for Saturday’s SGM. The next Board meeting will be the Board’s Budget presentation on August 17th at 7PM.
Finance Meeting Postponed Until August 17th
The meeting of the Finance Committee scheduled for August 3rd has been postponed. The new date for this meeting will be Wednesday, August 17th at 7pm.
